Oldmans Parents and Students,

 

Welcome to the 2009-2010 School Year!!!

The Oldmans Board of Education looks forward to implementing several new initiatives to help move the District toward obtaining the goals that we have set for the upcoming year.

 

Goal #1:  Continued Integration of Technology throughout the District

As you will hear from your children and see while visiting the classroom, new Smart Boards have been installed in numerous classrooms over the summer.  These highly effective teaching tools were made possible through numerous grants awarded to our school and from our wonderful PTA.  Additional Smart Boards will be installed throughout the school year.

 

Goal #2:  Continued Community Outreach

To share what is going on in our school we will continue to use the Connect Ed Phone System to communicate to the families of our students.  In addition, the school newsletter, written by Oldmans Students and mailed to the entire community will continue to be part of the plan.  Our school web site www.oldmans.org will continue to have improvements and updates made throughout the year.

 

Goal #3:  Continued Enhancement of Curriculum

We are scheduled to revise the Science, Health/Physical Education, and Visual/ Performing Arts Curriculums for the upcoming year.  The Infusion of Technology is also important and our staff will receive training throughout the year.

 

Education is a shared responsibility and we are very proud of our staff and students here at Oldmans.  We invite you to attend our monthly Board of Education meetings on the 2^nd Wednesday of each month at 7:30 PM in the school Library.  I also encourage you to join the school’s PTA, attend Parent/Teacher Conferences and other school events throughout the year.
